911 for AVAYA

Architecture Diagram

When a VoIP phone moves, how do you ensure that the correct location of that phone is reported to the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) when a 911 call is placed? The 911 Secure SENTRY™ Sentinel receives all phone registration events, the Sentinel will assign an ELIN (Emergency Location Identification Number) based on IP address/subnet, network switch, network switch/port, or wireless access point. Once a match is found, Sentinel will then update the phone record in the PBX. Sentinel also ensures that the ELIN is routed to the correct PSAP with all the location information of the phone.
